Sierpe River Wildlife Safari

We leave around 8 in the morning — sometimes earlier or later depending on the tides, or whatever works best for your family. Within minutes of leaving the dock, the river starts delivering.

The Sierpe River flows through the largest mangrove wetland in Costa Rica, and what lives along its banks is genuinely difficult to believe until you see it for yourself. Squirrel monkeys — endemic to this region of Costa Rica, found almost nowhere else — move through the canopy overhead. White-faced capuchins and howler monkeys call from the trees. American crocodiles and spectacled caimans rest on mudbanks a few meters from the boat. Snakes on the trees. And there are so many birds that even experienced birdwatchers run out of camera battery.
